The peach ingredient family
Every June Sky product is built around upcycled peach ingredients. Here is what each one does, and why we chose it.
Peach Upcycling Water
When peaches are processed — for juice, for puree, for food production — they release water. This peach water is rich in natural sugars, gentle organic acids, and skin-conditioning compounds. Instead of discarding it, we recover and purify it for use as a base in our Nourishing Cleanser and Peach Water Mist. It hydrates, conditions, and carries the other actives into the skin.
Peach Kernel Oil
Cold-pressed from peach stones, peach kernel oil is one of the most elegant facial oils in nature. It is rich in oleic acid (for nourishment), linoleic acid (for barrier repair), and natural vitamin E (for antioxidant protection). It absorbs quickly, does not clog pores, and leaves skin soft and luminous. You’ll find it in The Perfect Cream, The Glow Oil, and our Nourishing Cleanser.
Peach Extract
Extracted from the fruit itself, peach extract contains natural vitamins A, C, and E, along with gentle brightening and antioxidant compounds. It soothes, protects, and adds a subtle luminosity to the skin. Used across all five products.
Peach Phytosterols
Phytosterols are plant-derived lipid molecules extracted from peach skins. In the skin, they function like a biological repair kit: they integrate into the lipid matrix of the skin barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss and strengthening the barrier’s structure. They are the reason The Perfect Cream feels so restorative on compromised or sensitive skin.
Other key actives
Hyaluronic Bioferment
A biotechnology-derived form of hyaluronic acid produced through controlled fermentation. It holds up to 1000x its weight in water, delivering deep, lasting hydration at multiple levels of the skin. Used in The Good Skin Serum and Peach Water Mist.
D-Panthenol (Provitamin B5)
A widely studied, deeply moisturising active that accelerates barrier repair and reduces inflammation. Gentle enough for the most sensitive skin, effective enough to appear in every good clinical skincare brand. Used in The Good Skin Serum and Peach Water Mist.
Squalane
A lightweight emollient that mimics the skin’s own sebum. It seals in moisture, creates a silky finish, and is non-comedogenic. In The Glow Oil, it works alongside peach kernel oil to provide lasting nourishment without any heaviness.
Gluconolactone (PHA)
A polyhydroxy acid — the gentler cousin of AHAs like glycolic acid. It exfoliates the surface of the skin, removes dead cells, and improves texture and radiance, but without the irritation that stronger acids can cause. Suitable for sensitive skin. Used in The Perfect Cream.
Urea
A natural moisturising factor found in healthy skin. When applied topically, urea draws water into the epidermis and improves the skin’s water-holding capacity. At the concentrations used in The Perfect Cream, it is deeply hydrating without any irritation.
What June Sky never uses
- Parabens — preservatives with potential endocrine effects
- Mineral oils and petrolatum — petroleum-derived occlusive agents
- Synthetic fragrance — a common allergen and skin sensitiser
- Microplastics — polluting the water system with every rinse
- PEGs and ethoxylated compounds — often contaminated with manufacturing by-products
- Silicones — not biodegradable; provide slip but no skin benefit
